Week 35 Bump-Date!!

Hubs and I had maternity pics scheduled for this past Sunday, but since I got sick I had to cancel. Luckily, a family member was able to snap a few pics of Pinterest inspired photos from her camera while we were taking family photos...I think they turned out pretty wonderful and I'm so glad I have a few pics like these to show this special time in my pregnancy.

How far along? 35 weeks....however...the baby is measuring on the "big" side and the doctor has decided to "UnOfficially" move my due date from December 30th to December 21st!!! Baby Apple is estimated to weigh right now at this moment over 6 pounds! I'm very nervous about how big he will be on my due date!! So, I'm 35 weeks but really at 36 weeks? Not sure.

Maternity clothes? All Maternity. And I hate pants. Let me just say that if I could go pants-less all the time, I would. Pants are SO overrated.

Sleep: Well, now that I am sick (still fighting this cold slash flu crap) I'm really not sleeping...up all night coughing and getting up to use the restroom.

Best moment this week: Starting my weekly appointments! I am not dilated or effaced at the current moment. I go again next Monday.

Miss Anything? Nothing!

Movement: So much movement! And tons of hiccups!

Food cravings: Sweet Tea. Can't get enough of it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating after 8pm and not taking a Tums.

Gender: Baby boy

Labor Signs: Nothing! Needs to stay that way for TWO more weeks at least!

Belly Button in or out? In! Stretched but still in!!! And apparantly I have a freckle that used to be on the inside of my belly button now showing on the outside. Kinda funny!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Over being sick but really LOVING being pregnant right now. I feel really good and I'm honestly thinking I'm going to miss this feeling.

Looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment on Monday the 3rd.

What does Alphamom have to say about week 35?

Your Baby:
  • Is over five pounds now, although these weight guesstimates will start getting very useless very quickly over the next few weeks.
  • Since most of your baby’s organs are fully functional and major developmental milestones behind him or her, the next month is all about weight gain. And since “normal” weights for newborns these days can be anything between six and 10 pounds, it’s hard to predict how big YOUR baby will be from here on in.
You:
  • Are the very picture of motherly grace and beauty. Also: waddling.
  • Fatigue may be a big problem right now. You may need a daily nap, or find yourself crawling into bed by 9 pm. (I can barely make it to my toddler’s 8:30 bedtime most nights.) And while I’ve always seethed at people who love to cheerfully remind pregnant women to “Get some sleep! Once the baby’s here you won’t get any sleep!” I have to say…dude, get some sleep.

My week 35 thoughts:

So, yeah. This is the time I guess when soon-to-be mommies begin to feel the anxiety and nervousness and excitement all at the same time...I now realize I WILL be a mom in less than a month, it seems. I just can't believe it. The baby is moving SO MUCH and I know I am going to miss all of that movement (even the painful jabs into my ribs). I still have yet to pack my hospital bag...I just need to get to Target so I can buy some last minute items like nursing tanks and socks. Unsure if I would need it, I bought the baby a few weeks ago a "My First Christmas" onesie and it looks like he will be wearing it on Christmas day if my doctor's prediction is accurate! Hubs and I are going to Babies R Us this weekend to buy my breast pump and get some last minute items and then we are also installing the car seat. I think both of our goals is to just be prepared for anything at any moment. We are both trying to savor the time now and enjoy the pregnancy and enjoy being a family of 2 for a few more weeks. I am so sad that I had to cancel my maternity pictures but happy to have a few really beautiful shots to make up for it!

I have to ask, too, since we're chair twins.. where is that zebra print chair from?? We are redoing our office and I'm looking for a fun chair to go in there.
