34 Week Bump-Date!!!

My sister, me, my mom, and my aunt

How far along? 34 weeks! And I'm going to my "big" ultrasound later today to see how big the lil guy is!
Maternity clothes? Totally all maternity! And if I could boycott pants, I sure would. I hate them right now.
Sleep: Pssh. Who needs sleep?
Best moment this week: Washing all of his clothes and getting his room finished up!
Miss Anything? Nothing!
Movement: Lots of movement!!! Not those small little kicks anymore...just rolls and jabs here and there!
Food cravings: Nothing really right now
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating after 8pm and not taking a Tums.
Gender: Baby boy
Labor Signs: Nothing! Needs to stay that way for THREE more weeks!
Belly Button in or out? In! Still in!!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Sleepy and I think I may be getting sick...but still feeling really happy.
Looking forward to: Pigging out at Thanksgiving!!!

What does Alphamom have to say about week 34?

Your Baby:
  • Weighs as much as your average cantaloupe (4.75 pounds-ish) and is almost 18 inches long.
  • Reaching the 34-week mark is a big milestone for anyone concerned about pre-term labor, as babies born at this stage usually do just fine (provided they’re otherwise healthy). Other than a slightly longer stay at the hospital, they generally don’t experience any of the long-term health problems that prematurity can cause.
  • That said, don’t let your baby go and get any big ideas about escaping just yet. More baby fat and a few more weeks of lung maturity will still make everybody’s lives easier.
You:
  • Fatigue, heartburn, nausea, frequent trips to the bathroom. It’s like the Return of the First Trimester, only much bigger and rounder and gruntier.
  • Don’t forget to do your Kegel exercises, not only in preparation for childbirth but also to stop the unfortunate peeing-when-you-laugh-or-sneeze phenomenon, which can get pretty out of hand in these final weeks.
  • SO NOT KIDDING ABOUT THAT.

My thoughts: Feeling really good about everything. I've accepted the fact that there is no good in worrying about labor and delivery...I am just trying to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of being pregnant. This weekend will be the last weekend I travel out of town, just in case. I said from the very beginning that I wanted to stay close to home as soon as I hit 36 weeks, and that is just around the corner. I start my weekly check ups next week, too! It's getting closer!

A cantaloupe! Soon you'll have a real baby and not a piece of fruit! So exciting!

I'm ready for Thanksgiving and might tell my in laws that I'm eating for two just to harass them! Ha!
